ADDITIONAL CHARGES FILED IN PEDESTRIAN DEATH

A 47-year old man was charged with vehicular homicide in the death of a 13 year old girl. According to The Press of Atlantic City, Timothy Hettinger was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, after striking and killing Emily LaFerriere Sunday night, as she was walking on Radio Road in Little Egg Harbor Township. Police say Hettinger’s blood alcohol levels were well above the legal limit, and he was operating his vehicle in a reckless manner. Hettinger is being held in the Ocean County Jail on $200,000 bail. Emilee’s seventh grade schoolmates from Pinelands Regional Junior High School visited the site of the accident on Monday, placing stuffed animals and flowers at the roadside.
