ACHIEVEMENT GAP NOT IMPROVING, ACCORDING TO NEW TESTS

A lot has been made of the achievement gap in New Jersey; little has been done to fix the problem. Education Commissioner Christopher Cerf told a group of superintendents on Wednesday that test scored improved only slightly for high school students, but remained flat in the grades below. The state is still seeing a big difference between the wealthy and poor school districts.
