Atlantic City Electric worked around the clock for four days restoring power to 70,000 customers.
Following the heavy rains and high winds that hit the area on Sunday, the company, utilizing internal and contractor crews, initiated an around-the-clock restoration effort throughout its region which delivers electricity to more than 547,000 customers. Cumberland County was the hardest area hit requiring replacement of more than six miles of wire.
Our focus was to restore service to customers as quickly and safely as possible, “said Robert Revelle, Atlantic City Electric Vice President. “Our employees worked tirelessly, in an effort to restore all remaining customers.”
The company reminds customers that, this year, the National Weather Service predicted an active to extremely active hurricane season and destructive tropical weather could still hit the region any time between now and November 30.
