An Absecon man had to be cut from his vehicle by the jaws of life after crashing into a utility pole in Egg Harbor Township. Police report that a 59 year-old man was travelling west on Westcoat Road near a Garden State Parkway overpass, when his vehicle left the road, struck a fence and a utility pole. The man was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Division with moderate injuries. Traffic was detoured for about an hour while police investigated the scene.
