ABDUCTED CHILD FOUND RELATED TO KIDNAPPING CHARGES IN WEST VIRGINIA

The report of an abducted child in West Virginia resulted in an arrest in Atlantic County. Absecon and Atlantic City Police obtained information on Sunday that a child missing out of West Virigina was located at the 655 White Horse Pike. After the suspects initially refused to answer the hotel room door several rooms on the 3rd floor were evacuated. The occupants of the accused room were eventually negotiated with over the phone and exited the room to be taken into custody. The child was recovered. The female occupant was charged with being a fugitive from justice stemming from kidnapping charges out of West Virginia. She was lodged in county jail. The male occupant of the room was detained for questioning then released with no criminal charges. DYFS placed the child into emergency temporary custody while arrangements are made for his return to the custodial guardian.
