A.C. SHOOTING VICTIM CHARGED WITH DRUG POSSESSION

An 18 year-old Atlantic City man was shot in the groin and leg Sunday night at about 9:30 p.m. The victim, Mikal Wellman, was found in his apartment after the shooting that occurred in the 800 block of North Virginia Avenue. Medical personnel working on Wellman found drugs and a large amount of cash in his clothing. A bullet reportedly travelled through the bag of drugs in his pocket. Wellman was arrested for possession of heroin, and treated for non life-threatening injuries at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center’s City Campus.
