On Monday the N.J. Division of Gaming Enforcement released the numbers for Atlantic City casino revenues. The revenue for the city’s eight casinos was down by five percent from August of last year. When adjusted for revenue from the four casinos that closed in 2014, revenue was down by 15 percent from the prior year. Overall gambling revenue for August 2015 was $258.58 million, down from last year’s August total of $272.32 million. Five of the Atlantic City’s casinos have shown gambling revenue gains through August, but overall the city’s casinos are poised to post their ninth consecutive year of shrinking revenue.
