Emergency work on the 96th St. bridge entering Stone Harbor has been moved up. Cape May County officials announced that work would begin on Tuesday of this week and run through Thursday. The emergency repairs will close the bridge nightly from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. If left unaddressed, the floorbreak will break free resulting in a large gap in the bridge that would be difficult for vehicles to traverse. The floorbreak is a portion of the steel deck at the heel end of the movable spans.
