Fireworks shows planned in Avalon and Stone Harbor during the July 4th holiday will not be happening this year. Avalon cancelled its fireworks show a few weeks ago; this week, the Stone Harbor Fire Department followed suit, announcing its show also will not happen. Social distancing guidelines along with prohibitions of large beach gatherings are forcing shore communities to cancel or postpone their shows this summer.
