Seven former Vineland Development Center nurses have been indicted for actions that led to the amputation of a female resident’s hand in April of 2012. On Tuesday officials from the Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Office were in court regarding the indictment and a transcript should be made public on Wednesday. The amputation of the resident’s hand occurred after the alleged improper treatment of a fractured finger. The indictment alleges that the seven nurses “knowingly unreasonably neglected to do, or failed to permit to be done, any act necessary for the physical or mental health” of the resident from April 23 to 27, 2012.
