October 2nd through the 8th is National 4-H Week. Cape May County Freeholders passed a resolution at their meeting on September 27th declaring October 2nd through the 8th as 4-H week in Cape May County. During 4-H week, Cape May County is celebrating the 4-H youth who have made an impact on the community and are stepping up to the challenges of a complex and changing world. On Wednesday, October 5, at the Lockwood 4-H Youth Center, 4-H youth will connect with the community by offering a 4-H open house from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Also that night, 4-H members and guests will join millions of young people across the nation in participating in the fourth annual “National Youth Science Experiment.” “WIRED FOR WIND” will introduce young people to the possibilities of using wind as a clean, widely available, and low-cost source of renewable energy. The experiment will also be offered to local schools and youth groups in the county.
