On Saturday afternoon, the U.S. Coast Guard came to the rescue of three people who grounded their boat off the Cape May coast. The 35-foot boat’s hull was damaged when it struck a shoal in Delaware Bay at about 3:30 p.m. and began taking on water. An MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from Air Station Atlantic City hoisted all three boaters to safety and took them to the Cape May Airport. Three local fire rescue crews also responded and no injuries were reported in the incident.
