Heroin was found in a purse of a Lower Township woman. Delaware River and Bay Authority Police announced the arrest of Dawn Corcoran. The 45-year-old woman was going to board a depature for Lewes, Delaware when she was caught with the drugs. Police were screening foot passengers at the security checkpoint when the subject approached. The woman initially tried to play of the package of drugs off as a phone charger but admitted eventually that it was heroin. The subject was transported to the Lower Township Police Department for arraignment before Lower Township Municipal Court Judge on charges of possession Controlled Deadly Substance (CDS) within 500 feet of a public park; possession of CDS (heroin) a schedule I, II, III or IV substance; and possession of CDS (heroin) a schedule I substance with the intent to distribute. Cash bail was set at $50,000. Following arraignment, Corcoran was transported to the Cape May County Department of Corrections facility.
