100 NEW COPS FOR ONE OF NEW JERSEY’S MOST DANGEROUS CITIES

100 new police officers are being hired in Newark.  City leaders there say 100 new police officers are being hired in response to a plan to eventually grow the department to 1,400 officers.  Newark suffered 111 killings in 2013, which was its deadliest year in nearly a quarter century.
