The most successful women’s basketball coach in Stockton University history is retiring. CoastSportsToday.com reports that Joe Fussner has decided to call it a career at the end of June. The Middle Township girls basketball team opened up its postseason with a convincing 43-28 victory over West Deptford in a first round Group II South Jersey playoff game. Kira Sides scored 15 points for the Lady Panthers and Brianna Armstrong added ten points. The game was broadcast live on WCZT.
The Philadelphia Phillies will recognize the late Roy Halladay this season. Halladay’s number 34 will be flown on a flag this season at Citizens Bank Park; he will also be posthumously inducted onto the Phillies Wall of Fame. Hallway was killed in November in a private plane crash in Florida.
