Wildwood Catholic High School star Emily Cimino will continue her career at Lehigh University. Cimino signed a letter of intent on Monday to play softball at Lehigh on a partial scholarship. The field hockey season for the Middle Township Lady Panthers ended Wednesday afternoon courtesy of a 2-1 loss to Schalick in the South Jersey Group I semifinals. This was the second consecutive season that Middle was eliminated by Schalick in the playoffs. Middle ended the season with 13 victories.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Eagles have acquired wide receiver Golden Tate from the Detroit Lions for a third round draft pick. Tate has played well in Detroit and was the subject of trade rumors before the 4:00pm deadline.
A former soccer player at Stockton University has been tapped to be the new head coach of Real Madrid. The Press of Atlantic City reports that Santiago Solari will be the new coach of the team. Solari scored eight goals for Stockton during his career in the 1990s.
