A milestone victory last night for Ocean City basketball coach John Bruno. Bruno won his 400th career game Thursday night as Ocean City tripped up Lower Cape May, 67-63 in overtime. Ocean City is 9-2 on the season.
Wildwood High School basketball star Maddie McCracken has received a very prestigious honor by being selected to the McDonalds All-Americn selection nominee. In one of the best games of the year, Wildwood Catholic defeated St. Joseph’s in overtime, 78-73 in a game broadcast live on Shore 106.3FM. Taj Thweatt scored 20 points and had 16 rebounds for the Crusaders. Wildwood Catholic got the victory despite showing poorly from the foul line, barely above 50 percent.

It was a tough win, but the Wildwood Catholic Crusaders basketball team still was able to cap off a 4-0 week with a 34-32 win over Moorestown on Saturday. The game was held at St. Augustine Prep. Taj Thweatt scored 14 points for the Crusaders.
Another huge win Tuesday night for the Wildwood Catholic boys basketball program. Wildwood Catholic picked up 23 points from Taj Thweatt to knock off St. Augustine in the Hermits’ home gym, 67-44. This was the first time the Crusaders won at St. Augustine in a quarter century.
Middle Township High School will honor its back to back state championship boys basketball teams during an event on January 21st. It was a huge win on the hard court for the Wildwood Catholic basketball program Sunday. The Crusaders knocked off the Patrick School at the Seagull Classic, 56-42. Taj Thweatt scored 30 points for Wildwood Catholic in the victory. The Patrick School is one of the mostly highly ranked programs in the state annually.
A win, and a loss, for the Ocean City basketball program at the Seagull Classic Sunday afternoon at Holy Spirit High School. The boys team knocked off Howell, 66-56, while the girls’ team fell to Lenape, 54-32. Ocean City girls dropped to 5-3 on the young season.
