Success for local girls basketball teams at the Boardwalk Basketball Classic in Wildwood Wednesday. Wildwood Catholic received 30 points from Marianna Popazoglou in defeating Pennsbury, PA 45-39. Ocean City beat Methacton, 46-40. On the boys side, Millville defeated Ocean City, 66-61 to win the Ray Martin Memorial bracket.
Cape May Tech dropped a consolation game at the Boardwalk Basketball Classic tournament in Wildwood Wednesday afternoon. DelCastle Tech defeated the Hawks, 67-47. Ray Abbott led the way for Cape May Tech with nine points. Millville and Ocean City play in a championship game tonight to wrap up today’s boys’ action.
The Ocean City and Millville boys basketball teams were among the winners in Tuesday’s action at the Boardwalk Basketball Classic in Wildwood. Millville knocked off Lower Moreland High School by four points, while Ocean City defeated Conrad Sciences of Delaware, 61-45. Millville will play Ocean City in the Ray Martin Memorial Championship game.
The Boardwalk Basketball Classic continues this week at the Wildwoods Convention Center. On Tuesday morning, Ocean City’s girls team knocked off Hatboro Horsham, 56-33. Wildwood and Lower Cape May girls are in action in separate games later in the day.
The annual Boardwalk Basketball Classic holiday basketball tournament resumes on Tuesday with a large slate of boys and girls games. Tuesday afternoon, Cape May Tech boys will battle Wall Township, while Ocean City girls will take on Hatboro Horsham during a game that tips off at 11am.
