Sea Isle City native Nolan Stevens is now under contract with the NHL’s St. Louis Blues. Wildwood High School alumnus Frank Vogel has won his 300th career game as an NBA coach. The Magic have been eliminated from the NBA playoff consideration.

Another member of the Philadelphia Eagles’ Super Bowl winning team is departing. ESPN reports that tight end Trey Burton is leaving the Eagles to sign with the Chicago Bears. Burton threw a touchdown pass on a trick play to quarterback Nick Foles in the Super Bowl.
The free agent frezy is underway in the NFL, and the Philadelphia Eagles have made another move. The Eagles have agreed to a one year contract with former Detroit Lions defensive tackle Haloti Ngata. Ngata is 34 years old and is expected to replace Beau Allen on the Eagles’ roster.
Friday night was the end of the line for the Ocean City girls basketball team. The South Jersey champions were beaten badly by Ewing Township in a state semifinal game, 62-37. Ocean City scored only two points in the second quarter of the game.
Wide receiver Torrey Smith has been traded by the world champion Philadelphia Eagles. Smith has been shipped to the Carolina Panthers in return for cornerback Daryl Worley. The 29 year old Smith officially becomes a Panther on March 14th.
