The first of three consecutive home games will be played Saturday in Atlantic City featuring the new Arena Football League team, the Blackjacks. The Blackjacks won their home opener two weeks ago and will take on the 2-1 Baltimore Brigade Saturday at Boardwalk Hall.
The Atlantic City Blackjacks arena football team fell to 1-2 on Saturday with a 41-34 loss to the Washington Valor. The Valor are the defending league champions in the Arena Football League. Atlantic City takes on Baltimore at home Saturday, May 18th.
It looks like Wildwood High’s Frank Vogel is the next basketball coach of the Los Angeles Lakers. Reports over the weekend suggest that Vogel will get a three year contract, and must have former NBA star Jason Kidd as an assistant on his staff. Vogel is a 1991 graduate of Wildwood High School.
Wildwood High graduate Frank Vogel is reportedly in the running for the head coaching job with the Los Angeles Lakers. SI.com reports that Vogel, former Sixer Lionel Hollins, and Mike Woodson are all in the running for the job. The Lakers’ were unable to reach a contract agreement with Ty Lue.

The chairman of the Philadelphia Phillies has passed away at the age of 72 following a battle with cancer. The Phillies announced that David Montgomery passed away this morning. Montgomery was at the helm of the Phillies when the team moved to Citizens Bank Park.

The Atlantic City Blackjacks won their first-ever Arena Football League game at home on Saturday. Atlantic City knocked off Columbus, 42-35 to improve their record to 1-1. Their next game is in Washington on May 11th at 7:00pm.
