Wildwood Catholic basketball star Gabby Turco hit the 1000 point career milestone Saturday as the Lady Crusaders defeated Atlantic City, 51-46. Turco finished the night with 19 points and a dozen rebounds. In boys’ action, Seton Hall Prep got an easy win over Wildwood Catholic, 64-44 at the Battle by the Bay in Atlantic City.
The Middle Township boys basketball team picked up a key win on the road Friday night. Jeremiah Camacho hit a three pointer with under three seconds left to give Middle a 48-45 win over the cross county rivals. T.J. Harris scored 17 points for the Panthers.
One of the best rivalries this season is between the girls’ basketball programs at Wildwood Catholic and Middle Township high schools. The Lady Crusaders got the upper hand Wednesday night, defeating Middle Township, 51-49. Gabby Turco hit the winning basket with 15 seconds to play. The Philadelphia Eagles have lost a very valuable member of their front office. Andrew Berry is leaving the Eagles to become the new general manager of the Cleveland Browns. Berry was with the Browns before coming to the Eagles more than one year ago.

Lower Cape May Regional High School is accepting applications for its athletic hall of fame. CoastSportsToday.com reports that nominations are being accepted for induction through March 6th. Nominees can also be contributors to the athletic program.

Mainland High School basketball star Kylee Watson has been named to the McDonalds’ All American Team. Watson has been invited to attend the annual all star game to be played in Texas on April 1. Watson is the first female player from this region to be selected for the game.
It’s been awhile since the St. Augustine boys’ basketball team lost by 39 points. Wildwood Catholic knocked off the Hermits Wednesday night, 82-43 to improve their record to 12-2 on the season. Taj Thweatt led the way with 28 points and 19 rebounds.
