The Wildwood Lady Warriors basketball team advanced in the South Jersey Group I playoffs with a huge opening night win over Gateway Regional, 53-18. Wildwood lead at the half, 38-3. Jenna Hans led the Lady Warriors with 17 points. The game was broadcast live Monday evening with Brian Cunniff and Buddy Tarbotton on WCZT.
The Wildwood Catholic boys basketball team has won the Cape Atlantic League basketball championship. Wildwood Catholic crushed St. Augustine, 70-39 in a game broadcast live on WCZT. Taj Thweatt scored 24 points and missed only one shot; Jahlil White added 17 points for the Crusaders.
Lance Bailey is returning as head football coach at Lower Cape May Regional High School. CoastSportsToday.com’s Brian Cunniff reports on his Twitter page that Bailey returns to coach the program that he led from 2004 through 2006. Collin Thompson has posted on social media that he will part of Bailey’s coaching staff.
It was a huge night for Middle Township basketball star Kira Sides. She became the all time Lady Panther scoring leader as Middle Township knocked off Buena, 59-10. Marianna Papazoglou scored 15 points for Wildwood Catholic. Mainland will play Atlantic City in the title game.

The Lower Cape May girls basketball team picked up a 59-33 victory over St. Joseph’s Tuesday night. Lyndsay Holden scored 25 points for the Capers. In boys action, Middle Township tripped up Cape May Tech, 43-24. T.J. Harris had 14 points. Wildwood boys fell to Highland Regional, 77-62.
