Wildwood’s new police dog “Vera” and her handler, Patrolman Christopher Katz, have both completed their training at the Atlantic County K9 Academy. Wildwood Police announced on social media that both Vera and Katz were trained on K9 patrol practices and for narcotics detection. Katz was also awarded the academy’s Instructor Appreciation Award. ##
The Wildwood Beach Patrol will guard a limited number of beaches after the Labor Day holiday. The Patrol will also not provide any lifeguarding services after biker weekend, the weekend after Labor Day. Beach taxi service will be available through September 10th. ##
The Wildwood Fire Department responded to a residential fire on East Andrews Avenue early Friday afternoon. Fire officials say the blaze was contained to the kitchen area in a third floor unit.
