The Wildwood Business Improvement District has provided a $20,000 donation to the Wildwood Police Department in support of its community policing efforts. BID Executive Director John Donio presented the check to Chief Robert Regalbuto earlier this month. Police have a community presence at many BID events including farmers markets and movie nights.
The Wildwood Business Improvement District has announced an outdoor movie night to be held on Friday, October 27th. The movie “Hotel Transylvania” will be shown at the Farmer’s Market lot that evening at 6:00 o’clock with some treats available to children prior to the movie.

The former owner and operator of Wildwood’s Firehouse Tavern has died at the age of 80. Frederick Maier passed away on Friday. Maier operated the bar in Wildwood for over 20 years. Funeral services are private.

A public meeting has been scheduled for October 2nd at the Wildwoods Convention Center to discuss a potential Rio Grande Avenue gateway project for the island. Discussions are expected to include a reduction in traffic congestion, improved drainage, and the enhancement of pedestrian and bicycle usage. The meeting begins at 2pm.
