A transformer that failed caused a power outage Tuesday night in Wildwood that lasted about an hour. The power outage shut off power to the city’s boardwalk, including to amusement piers. The power went back on around midnight.

An event promoter with past ties to Wildwood has been sentenced to four years probation on a third degree charge of theft. Amanda Thomas was sentenced Friday in connection with the charge; she will not serve time in prison. Thomas was sentenced by Superior Court Judge Michael Donohue.

Emily Weinman of Philadelphia was charged with aggravated assault on a police officer after an arrest that was circulated around various media channels. The officers were cleared of wrongdoing.
An investigation is underway into the cause of a house fire in Wildwood Monday evening. Firefighters were called to the scene of a fire in the 4500 block of Park Boulevard, which was brought under control in 20 minutes. Two occupants of the home made it out safely.
