A longtime fixture in the Wildwood Police Department has retired. Well wishes are coming in for Eli Aboud (right in photo) who is retiring after a career in the department that spanned three decades. Aboud has been a well-known fixture in the Department for years and has worked with many community organizations.

A former longtime commissioner for the Borough of West Wildwood has passed away at the age of 72. William Braker served as the Commissioner of Revenue and Finance for the community from 1974 through 1996. Services will be held Friday morning at the First Baptist Church of Wildwood.

Wildwood Police announced the arrest of a 25 year old unemployed laborer following a drug bust Saturday at a local motel. Police say Joemar Soberal was charged with multiple drug offenses after police found 120 bags of heroin along with a quantity of marijuana. Soberal was released on a summons.
Some detours are coming near the site of the Wildwood water tower at Maple and New Jersey avenues. Wildwood Police say painting of the tower is expected to begin Monday which will result in some sidewalk closures.
