Another significant tax hike looms in Wildwood. The City Commission will hold a public hearing on May 8th on a new municipal budget that increases the local purpose tax rate by nearly five cents. The budget was formally introduced last week.
Four people have been arrested following a traffic stop last Thursday in Wildwood. City police say 44 year old John Dyes of Rio Grande was a suspect wanted in connection with the theft of a large amount of currency taken from a residence. Dyes was charged, along with three others on various drug offenses.

Two Wildwood firefighters save the life of an 80 year old patient who went into cardiac arrest at a convenience store Thursday. Firefighters Gerry Vessels and Sean Stanton were at the store and immediately administered CPR. The patient was taken to the Atlantic City Medical Center.
56 year old William McNeal of Wildwood has been arrested and charged on multiple counts of heroin and cocaine possession. County authorities announced that a search warrant was executed at his home on Maple Avenue and the drugs were found. McNeal was allegedly dealing drugs in the city; he’s holed up in the County Jail.
