The official voting drop box for Wildwood has been installed. Wildwood officials say the new drop box for the 2020 election ballots is located on the Davis Avenue side of Wildwood City Hall. The County is installing these drop boxes throughout the County so mail-in ballots can be safely deposited.
There were two new cases of coronavirus reported in Cape May County Sunday. One case apiece was reported in Wildwood, and in Ocean City. There are only two non-resident active cases in our area. Middle Township leads the way with 22 cases.
Traffic patterns will be interrupted next week on the Wildwood side of the George Redding Bridge for the installation of decorative mural art which is part of the city’s new gateway project. Traffic will be detoured between the hours of 8:00am until 6:00pm, beginning next Monday and for the rest of the week.
National Night Out is a no go this year in Wildwood. Police announced on their social media page Tuesday that this year’s event is being cancelled due to safety concerns associated with the pandemic. Many other police departments locally have made the same decision.
Wildwood Police have released a photograph of man who is suspected of arson in the city. Police say the arson took place early Saturday morning but did not disclose a location. If you have information on the suspect you are asked to contact Wildwood Police.

Wildwood has announced a partnership with the County on a redevelopment initiative that targets the Pacific Avenue business district. The city and the county are working together to use tools and incentives to improve the business experience. Four collaborative sessions are planned in the fall to discuss goals and processes to revitalize Pacific Avenue.
This could be one quick meeting. West Wildwood has posted its Wednesday meeting agenda on its website, and it has only one actionable item. The Commission may approve the renewal of a liquor license. The Commission will also vote to approve minutes of a special meeting.
