Three people were rescued from rough surf conditions in Wildwood Thursday. Response teams went to Andrews Avenue where good samaritans helped pull three girls from the water. One was transported to Cape Regional Medical Center after the ocean rescue.
There was an unsubstantiated threat on Wildwood’s amusement piers Sunday night. City police say someone called 911 alleging that there was a threat directed at the piers. The piers were evacuated as a precaution, and a multi jurisidctional search of the piers turned up nothing. The evacuations were lifted early Monday morning.

The City of Wildwood has two new full time police officers. The police department’s social media page notes that Ptlm. Acevedo-Reyel and Ptlm. Pilanski completed the 21 week residential academy as part of the 50th Basic Course for Police Officers. Both officers are being assigned to the Field Training Program.
