Three juveniles have been charged with burglarizing several storage units at a local condominium. The thefts occurred on September 19th and involved teenagers from the Crest and Rio Grande. All three juveniles were processed and released to their parents.
Legendary singer Bobby Rydell will be conducting a book signing at the Wildwood Crest Public Library on October 14th. Rydell will sign copies of his book that details some of the more troubling days throughout his life and career. He will appear at the Library starting at 1pm.
The annual New Jersey Run for the Fallen passed through all shore communities on Thursday. Active military personnel run more than 190 miles over four days with the run ending in Holmdel. In Wildwood Crest, stops were made the Crest Memorial School and other key locations, with an escort by the Crest Police Department.
The Crest Pier recreation facility in Wildwood Crest will be closing on September 25th for routine maintenance, including a complete refurbishment of the gymnasium floor. Crest officials announced that the Pier will open for the fall season on October 9th, with fall fitness programs starting the following day.
Wildwood Crest is making final preparations for its annual Seafarer’s celebration that’s coming on September 23rd. This year’s festival will include live music from local banks including Stellar Mojo, the Star Band, and the Legacy Band. Weather permitting, fireworks will be held on the beach at 9pm.

Wildwood Crest has announced a reduction in lifeguard services following Labor Day weekend. Crest officials say guards will be manned at only five beaches during the week after Labor Day, and full coverage for the season will end on Sunday, September 10th. After that, only an emergency response team is available on weekends. ##
