Wildwood Crest Police have charged 43 year old Keith Bielawski of Wildwood with burglary and theft following an incident at a condo on Primrose Avenue last week. Police say Bielawski was working as a security worker at the building and allegedly entered a unit to remove jewelry and other personal items from the victim.
The Wawa Foundation has provided a $2,500 grant to the Wildwood Crest Fire Department to be used for emergency services. Fire Chief Ron Harwood says the grant will pay for various equipment upgrades needed by the department.
Beach boxes available for rent during the summer season in Wildwood Crest were all reserved in about one day. A new shared services agreement between the Crest and Wildwood resulted in 84 beach boxes being reserved for the season. There’s no guarantee additional boxes will be added for the upcoming beach season.
Wildwood Crest and Wildwood now have a shared services agreement that will bring beach boxes to the Crest beaches, managed by Wildwood. 84 beach boxes will come to the Crest that will be available on a first come, first served basis and allow for temporary storage of beach gear. The cost for a season, $400.
Wildwood Crest will likely conduct a back passing beach fill project this spring. The Crest Commission meets today and is expected to authorize going out to bid for the project. It will use a local engineering firm to coordinate the efforts.
Wildwood Crest will make various improvements to the 500 block of East Rambler Road, at the beach entrance. Crest officials announced that American With Disabilities Act improvements will be made starting next month which include a traffic circle median to provide a safer drop off area for vehicles, and better pedestrian and bicycle safety.
Drone technology has been used to create a new promotional video for Wildwood Crest. Crest officials say the new two minute promotional video will be shown publicly for the first time at the February 20th Borough Commission meeting.
Funeral services will be held Friday morning as the Assumption Church in Wildwood Crest for Jim Leahy. Leahy passed away following a battle with cancer. Leahy was best known in the area for being one of the many stars of the Wildwood Catholic basketball program, and for operating the successful Leahy Sports in Rio Grande.
