Wildwood Crest, Avalon, and other communities in Cape May County are restricting access by the public to municipal buildings. The move is being made in order to slow down the spread of coronavirus in the State. Both communities will restrict public access on Wednesday; some other towns begin as early as Tuesday.

A longtime fixture in the Wildwood Crest business and social community passed away Saturday at the age of 82. Funeral services will be private for Joseph Franco Sr., who worked as both a hotelier and in real estate for decades in the Crest. Franco also served in the United States Army.

The Wildwood Crest Police Department is adding two new officers. Zackary Magnavita and Brian Harrison both graduated from the Cape May County Police Academy on Tuesday and will be full time officers with the department, according to the social media page maintained by Crest Police.
The Wildwood Crest Borough Commission will deal with largely routine business during its final meeting of the year Friday morning.
