A house fire has been reported in Petersburg, Upper Township, Sunday morning. WPVI in Philadelphia reports that fire crews were brought to the 100 block of Perry Road to battle a house fire which was brought under control in about an hour. No injuries are reported.
Two incumbent committeemen in Upper Township filed their petitions this week to seek re-election. John Coggins and Hobie Young will both seek their party’s endorsement in the June primary election. Both men have the support of the Upper Township Republican County Committee.
Taxes will be going up in Upper Township this year. The Township Committee introduced its new budget Monday night and it includes a two cent increase in the local purpose tax rate. A public hearing and final vote on the budget will be held on April 25th.

The alleged “Red Bull” thief has been caught. New Jersey State Police say they have arrested 44 year old David Grimes of Bridgewater with allegedly stealing $80 worth of Red Bull from the ShopRite in Marmora. Grimes turned himself in to the Woodbine barracks last Wednesday. He also faces shoplifting charges in Bridgewater.
