Former Wildwood Mayor Gary DeMarzo is the new administrator in Upper Township, replacing Scott Morgan. The Township Committee approved the change during a 4-1 vote Monday night. Morgan was Upper’s first and only administrator, and held the job for five years.
56 year old John Creamer of Marmora lost his life during a two vehicle accident on Saturday. The Cape May County Herald reports that Creamer’s vehicle collided with an SUV after Creamer’s vehicle crossed the center line into traffic. The accident occurred between Church and Butter roads, along Tuckahoe Road.
The Upper Township Committee has introduced a new budget that includes a three cent increase in the tax rate. The Press of Atlantic City reports that the budget was introduced Monday evening during the committee meeting. Much of the increase will be placed to capital expenses.
