The spring meeting of the Jersey Shore Partnership took place at the Reeds in Stone Harbor Monday afternoon. The partnership is a coalition of municipal and business interests who want to see the state make an increased commitment to funding for beach fill projects along the Jersey Shore.
Openings have been temporarily suspended on Stone Harbor’s 96th Street Bridge. The bridge openings will not occur for approximately two weeks until various repairs are complete, according to the Borough’s website. The bridge remains usable for vehicular traffic.
Stone Harbor will be introducing its municipal budget on Tuesday afternoon. Council is also expected to enter into a Shared Services Agreement that will allow the Borough to use the warming center established at the neighboring Avalon Senior Center. Angled parking, and dog issues are also on the agenda.
A fire that caused significant damage to a home on 102nd Street in Stone Harbor Sunday afternoon was ruled accidental in nature. Fire crews responded to the home around 1:00pm Sunday and found flames and smoke at the rear of the property. One person lived at the home, but made it out with no injuries.

Stone Harbor officials say their new public safety building will be used starting next Monday. The Borough’s police department will move in to a new police building that replaces an older structure that was plagued with issues. A parking lot adjacent to the new building will also open Monday as well.
Stone Harbor decided to cancel Saturday night’s Christmas parade due to rain in the forecast. Officials say the parade will not be rescheduled. A holiday parade in Vineland was postponed for Saturday; instead, it will be held at 5pm on Sunday.
