The Stone Harbor Borough Council has a new member. Raymond Parzych was selected to fill the seat vacated by Judy Davies Dunhour, who was elected mayor in November. Parzych is a graduate of Temple University and served as an officer in the Coast Guard for ten years.

Council met Tuesday and accepted the resignation of Chief Paul Reynolds, and also named former Captain Thomas Schutta as Acting Police Chief. Council also approved the hiring of full time officers and approved a joint dispatch agreement with the Borough of Avalon.
Some additional repair work to Stone Harbor’s 96th Street Bridge will be coming in the spring. The Press of Atlantic City reports that any full bridge closures to the bridge will occur during overnight hours. The top ranking police official in Stone Harbor will be changing next month. Current Chief of Police Paul Reynolds will be retiring and Captain Thomas Schutta will be promoted. New Stone Harbor Mayor Judy Davies-Dunhour made the announcement during the borough’s reorganization meeting on Tuesday. Reynolds was named chief back in 2011.
Judy Davies Dunhour is the new mayor of Stone Harbor. Swearing in ceremonies were held in Stone Harbor Tuesday afternoon and Davies Dunhour was sworn in as mayor, replacing Suzanne Walters whom she defeated in the spring, 2016 primary election. There was no democratic opposition for mayor in Stone Harbor this November.
