Stone Harbor’s council will meet on Tuesday and is expected to present a new municipal budget, and appoint a police chief. The Borough will acknowledge the retirement of outgoing Chief Paul Reynolds during the meeting and appoint a Zoning Officer, Ray Poudrier. ##
Funeral services are being held Monday morning in Galloway for former Stone Harbor Councilman Gerald Gladue. Gladue passed away at the age of 92 last Monday. Gladue served on the Stone Harbor Borough Council before moving to Smithville. He also served in the United States Army during World War II.
Stone Harbor’s Borough Council will meet Tuesday afternoon and is expected to introduce the 2017 municipal budget. Council will also consider an ordinance that would move the beach patrol and beach tag checkers under the direction of the Department of Public Safety. Tuesday’s meeting begins at 4:30pm.
More work could be coming to Stone Harbor’s 96th Street Bridge. County freeholders approved another expenditure that will result in permanent repairs to the bridge which was closed for a month after a large crack was discovered in a girder. Overnight closings of the bridge are expected in the latter part of the spring.
