Swearing in ceremonies were held in Sea Isle City earlier this week for the city’s new Chief of Police, Thomas McQuillen. McQuillen has worked for the department full time since 1999. He is a 1990 graduate of Ocean City High School.
Sea Isle City native Nolan Stevens is now under contract with the NHL’s St. Louis Blues. CoastSportsToday.com reports exclusively that Stevens completed his senior season at Northeastern University and was a fifth round pick of the Blues in 2016. Stevens is the son of former Flyers head coach John Stevens.

Cape May County is closing the Townsend’s Inlet Bridge between Avalon and Sea Isle City at 5:00pm Thursday, and will keep the bridge closed until sometime on Sunday. The coastal storm is expected to produce wave action that will make driving on the approach road on either side of the bridge unsafe.
A project to create a new Sea Isle Boulevard is still expected to wrap up one year ahead of schedule. The Press of Atlantic City reports that the $12 million construction project should finish by the summer of 2019. The roadway is being elevated over four feet for evacuation purposes.
