Pleasantville Police continue their investigation into a fatal shooting in the city that occurred Thursday night. Police say a man was shot to death inside a car parked on Stenton Place. So far, no witnesses have come forward and police do not have any suspects in custody.
A guidance counselor in the Pleasantville school district has become the 13th individual to admit a role in a major health care benefits fraud scheme. The Press of Atlantic City reports that 31 year old Michael Pilate offered the guilty plea in federal court Thursday morning. Pilate could face tremendous restitution and prison time.
A 32 year old Pleasantville man has been arrested and charged with sexually assaulting two children. Atlantic County prosecutors announced that Sherron Scott assaulted the two children in Egg Harbor Township. A 52 year old woman who was struck by a New Jersey Transit bus last week in Pleasantville has died of her injuries. Elizabeth McCallister was struck by the rack on the front of the bus and knocked her over, causing a severe head injury.
