The 48 year old principal of Pleasantville High School is expected to be in court Wednesday, accused of having more than 1,000 images of child pornography. Edward James Bonek of Absecon has been formally indicted on the charges. Bonek has been held in the Cape May County Jail since his arrest in August.
A very large fire in Pleasantville Tuesday afternoon resulted in smoke being seen a few communities away. It happened late afternoon at an unoccupied property near Route 9 and Adams Avenue. A detached garage was on fire with a vehicle inside. No injuries, no word yet on what sparked the fire.

Pleasantville Police are thanking five teenagers for their assistance with the safe recovery of a five year old child who was wandering the streets during the overnight hours. Police say the teens located the youth on New Road and stayed with the boy until police arrived. The boy was not injured.
Pleasantville Police helped prevent a despondent man from jumping off an overpass on the Atlantic City Expressway Friday morning. Police say they were alerted to the situation by Tashone Sparkman who was driving home from her work shift during the early morning hours on Friday. A 32 year old Pleasantville man has been indicted on charges that he sexually assaulted two children last year. Sherron Scott was indicted on multiple counts of aggravated sexual assault and other offenses. Scott was arrested after a several months long investigation.
