Taxes are going up in Wildwood Crest while the sewer rates will be going down. The new tax rate will increase by a penny to 67.1 cents per $100 of assessed valuation, which translates into about a $45 annual increase in taxes. Capital projects will be funded without incurring any additional debt.
New Jersey Transit is now on Facebook in order to more effectively communicate with its customers. The transit agency has been widely criticized by Governor Phil Murphy who has included nearly a quarter billion dollars of additional revenue into the state budget to fix problems with the beleaguered agency.

Mayor William Pikolycky announced that the new budget introduced last week will keep the local purpose tax rate at 23.4 cents per $100 of assessed valuation. The budget totals about $4 million; a public hearing on the spending plan will be held on April 19th.
North Wildwood officials are hopeful the new development on Seaport Pier will be open by Memorial Day weekend. Mayor Patrick Rosenello says the new pier will have a restaurant, bar, cafe, and a swim club. The pier has remained empty for the past 14 years after a cluster of small retail shops closed.
Injuries are reported following a crash involving two vehicles on Route 47 in Dennis Township over the weekend. State Police say a Corvette and a pickup truck collided at the intersection of Tyler Road. Police have not yet released the names of the drivers or victims.
