Vineland Police say a 37 year old woman is charged with DUI after she allegedly swapped seats with a driver after a hit and run accident. Jennifer L. Beattie was cited for reckless driving and for driving on a revoked license. The Daily Journal reports that Beattie swapped seats right after the accident.
Catherine McCabe has been sworn in as the new Commissioner for the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection. McCabe was nominated to the position by Governor Phil Murphy. McCabe says decisions will be made on the best available science.

Democratic Assemblyman Arthur Barclay from Camden County resigned from his position this week due to charges related to domestic violence. Camden County Democratic Party Chairman James Beach says he received a letter from Barclay who cites the official decision based on “health reasons”. Barclay has confirmed his arrest.
Students who attend the Technical Education Center in Cumberland County may be permitted to soon play sports in their home school districts. The Daily Journal reports that principals from Millville, Cumberland Regional, and Cumberland County could start negotiations next week on the deal. The state told the districts to begin having the meetings this month.
A Powerball ticket worth $1 million was sold at the Friendly Deli on New Jersey Avenue in Absecon. State lottery officials say there were only two other million dollar tickets sold, one in Wisconsin, and the other in Puerto Rico. Wednesday’s jackpot will be worth $151 million.

New Jersey Attorney General Gurbir Grewal is calling for mandatory ani-discrimination training for New Jersey State Troopers and county prosecutors. Grewal says it’s time for the state to “redouble” its efforts to recruit more minorities into the ranks of the State Police. He calls diversity one of the New Jersey’s greatest strengths.
Former Philadelphia mayor and former Pennsylvania governor Ed Rendell announced Monday that he is suffering the effects from Parkinson’s Disease. Rendell held a press conference Monday to announce that’s he undergoing treatment. The 74 year old Rendell has had symptoms for over three years.
Six people were rescued from a boat near Ocean City on Sunday as the vessel caught on fire. A Coast Guard vessel rescued all six people on the boat; the boat’s fire was extinguished and taken to a marina in Somers Point. There were no injuries.
