A massive beach fill project in Ocean City is underway. City officials say the dredge “Texas” began pumping sand on the beaches Thursday night. Ocean City will get 1.3 million cubic yards of sand on its beaches from Seaspray Road to 13th Street.

The official misconduct trial of former Ocean City High School athletic director Christine Lentz has reached closing arguments. Lentz is accused of spying on a superintendent’s iPad in order to gain an upper hand in contract negotiations. Lentz’s attorneys say she spied in the co-worker’s email account for personal reasons.

A 24 year old Sicklerville man was arrested after he was spotted in a domestic assault against his girlfriend Thursday morning on Route 40 in Hamilton Township. Closing arguments are underway in a federal court in the corruption trial of Senator Robert Menendez. Some priests formed a circle outside of the courtroom on Thursday to pray during a break in the proceedings. Menendez is accused of accepting lavish gifts from a friend and a political supporter.
One man suffered serious injuries in connection with a two vehicle motor vehicle accident Thursday on Route 50 in Hamilton Township. Police say 58 year old Andrew Jepson suffered facial and other injuries as his pickup truck left the roadway, hitting mailboxes, trees, and a utility pole. The other driver was not injured.
