A new measure approved by lawmakers in Trenton would authorize a property tax exemption for totally disabled veterans in New Jersey. The bill now heads to the desk of Governor Christie for his consideration. To qualify, a veteran would have to be 100 percent disabled as a result of their service.

You will have to wait until at least Wednesday to use the Cape May Lewes Ferry. The Delaware River and Bay Authority announced that severe icing on the bay again will cancel ferry crossings on Tuesday. Warmer weather is in the forecast, which may allow the ice to break up.
No injuries are reported after a car ran into a train in Vineland Monday. The Daily Journal reports that the 18 year old driver of the car escaped injury when the nose of her car crashed into an idle train on East Avenue. The air bags deployed in the vehicle.
New Jersey Governor Chris Christie closed all state offices at 3pm Monday for non-essential personnel. Christie was citing snowy and icy roads that may be further compromised by a wintry mix that will impact the Garden State. Memorial services were held at the Papermill Playhouse in Millburn Monday for former New Jersey Governor Brendan Byrne. Byrne passed away last week at the age of 93. Bryne was credited with bringing casino gaming to Atlantic City.
The New Jersey Department of Transportation has completed its snow removal efforts in Atlantic City. About 50 pieces of equipment were mobilized to the gaming resort to clear ten city blocks of snow; the request for State assistance was made by new Atlantic City Mayor Frank Gilliam.
