The mask mandate is over for New Jersey Transit trains and buses. Governor Murphy took to social media to eliminate the mandatory mask requirement now that a court dismissed a Biden Administration initiative that required masks on mass transportation.
Winds exceeded 60mph last night during the coastal storm that caused some beach erosion and street flooding. The National Weather Service reports wind gusts topping out at 66mph during the storm Monday night. Accu Weather calls for no chance of rain this week, into the weekend.
The Hi Point Pub in Absecon has lost its liquor license. The Press of Atlantic City reports that the State suspended the liquor license indefinitely. A hearing was held on the license on April 12th. Several incidents led to the suspension.
Two men from Villas have been arrested and charged with various narcotics distribution offenses. The former retreat center in Cape May Point is now becoming a science center. The building was sold for $5.5 million; it had been operated by the Sisters of St. Josephs since 1909. A mortgage was taken on the Cape May National Golf Club to purchase the building.
A man has been charged by authorities with abandoning his boat near Cape May this month. Michael Wrzesinski has been charged after authorities found his life vests with his name written on them washing ashore. The boat had been disabled and was anchored, but was dislodged by a storm.
If you are 21 years of age, you will be able to buy pot in the Garden State legally starting next Thursday. Governor Phil Murphy made that announcement on social media late Thursday afternoon. Murphy calls it an “historic step” to create a new cannabis industry in the Garden State.
