The new Cape May County Commission will have a swearing in ceremony this afternoon. Incumbents Will Morey and Jeffrey Pierson will take their respective oaths of office. The former freeholder board will now be known as the County Commission. The event begins at 5:00pm.
Marty Small will be sworn in as Mayor of Atlantic City this afternoon. Small is expected to be sworn in virtually by Governor Murphy during an official ceremony to begin at 4:00pm.

A commercial kitchen fire in a structure Monday evening in West Cape May drew a response from local fire companies. Former Middle Township mayor Mike Voll has a new home. Voll has been named as the new city manager in Cape May. Cape May has made some significant changes in personnel, including a new engineering firm and a new city solicitor. The government in Cape May officially reorganized last week.
There are 59 new cases of coronavirus reported in Cape May County. County officials also say on Tuesday that 73 residents at the Crest Haven Nursing Home received their first doses of the new Covid-19 vaccine. New Jersey has administered 100,000 doses of the vaccine to date.
The Atlantic City Beer and Music Festival is moving outdoors to Bader Field this year. The festival is moving outdoors in June in a furtherance to guarantee the festival will still go on as planned. There were be three, four hour sessions that begin on Friday evening, June 4th.
