31 individuals have been named in connection with the arrests of adults who are committing online child sex crimes. Some of those individuals are from South Jersey, including one from Atlantic County, 55 year old Keith Rodenbach of Mays Landing. He was charged with being in possession of child sex abuse material.
The Wildwood City Commission meets today and will vote on a $4.5 million project to make repairs to the city’s boardwalk. A bond ordinance is before the Commission today. Wildwood may also take action on its Pacific Avenue Redevelopment Plan. The meeting begins at 5:00pm.
It looks like West Cape May will join Lower Township in allowing cannabis businesses in the community. The Borough Commission meets today and will vote on an ordinance that would permit the operation of certain cannabis businesses within the boundaries of the community. The United States Coast Guard rescued three mariners about 28 miles off the coast of Cape May Sunday after their vessel ran aground. North Wildwood Police are searching for a suspect connected to an assault that took place on July 4th. Police released a photo of the suspect who was involved in an altercation at Seventh Avenue and John F. Kennedy Boulevard. If anyone has information regarding this individual, they are asked to contact North Wildwood Police.
A sure sign that the tourism season is off to a strong start…toll revenues. The Delaware River and Bay Authority announced that its traffic volume for the month of June on the Delaware Memorial Bridge has set an all time record. Over 1.6 million vehicles crossed the bridge during the past month.
Needles and other medical waste has come ashore in two beach communities in central New Jersey. NJ.com reports that the medical waste came ashore in Monmouth Beach and Long Branch. Beach closures were in effect on Sunday, but have been lifted Monday.
