Wildwood and Cape May County officials have announced forward progress on plans to revitalize the Pacific Avenue downtown area in the city. The Pacific Avenue Redevelopment Initiative will create a new zone along the commercial portion of the street in Wildwood and encourage new investment and home ownership. Atlantic City Police say a pedestrian was struck and killed by a motor vehicle Wednesday night on Route 40. Police say two off duty officers came across the crash and immediately rendered assistance to the victim. The 23 year old driver who struck the pedestrian remained on the scene of the accident.
Avalon will be conducting a sand back passing project this spring. Business Administrator Scott Wahl reports that 64,000 cubic yards of sand will be placed on north end beaches in the community that were ravaged this winter by significant storm events.
