Casino earnings edged up during the second quarter in Atlantic City. New gaming numbers show that the casinos had a combined operating profit of $171.4 million during the quarter. The biggest loser appears to be the Borgata which saw its profit decline by over 20 percent.

A lightning strike on a utility pole in Ocean City was responsible for wires coming down on the roadway and setting a car on fire. It happened Tuesday night during a thunderstorm at 27th Street and Asbury Avenue, according to WPVI-TV. Another car was damaged; there were no injuries.
A 30 year old Atlantic City man has been arrested and charged with breaking into multiple properties in Margate. City police announced that arrest of Brahin Shariff Jones who was picked up over the weekend after trying to break into a property. Additional charges are pending against Jones.
