Two men have been charged with murder in connection with the slaying of an Atlantic City man this past summer. Authorities have charged 25 year old Bashawn Whitted-Scott and 26 year old Brian Richardson with killing Deshawn Dawkins in August. Whitted-Scott remains at large.
New Jersey State Police say two people were killed when a car crashed into a utility pole in Shamong Township. Police say the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed and was literally wrapped around the pole. The identities of the victims have not been released.

The Wildwood Golf Club in Middle Township has been sold. The Press of Atlantic City reports that the club has been sold to a group of current and new members. The Club has hired a professional management staff to handle day to day operations.
A new year, and a new member for the Wildwood Crest Borough Commission. The Commission will hold its reorganization meeting on Wednesday, January 3rd. During the meeting Commissioner-elect David Thompson will be sworn in to office. Thompson will replace current Mayor and Commissioner Carl Groon.
A new state growth zone may be established around the Atlantic City International Airport. An Assembly committee approved a measure that would set up a Garden State Growth Zone around the airport; it provides various incentives for any company who wishes to establish itself in the zone. The measure now advances to the full Assembly.
Cape May’s city council will meet Tuesday evening and is expected to consider a resolution that will set a rate of six percent interest on delinquent taxes and municipal charges. An ordinance may also be approved that would change certain design standards in the city. The meeting begins at 5:30pm.
