A great first day of basketball action at the Boardwalk Basketball Classic Saturday saw Middle Township knock off Lower Cape May, 60-54. Pat Holden scored 23 points in the loss. Wildwood Catholic boys beat Wildwood by 30, 74-44; the Crusaders are 3-0 on the season.

New construction regulations have been approved by the Stone Harbor Borough Council. Council approved new regulations that prohibits any construction on Sundays from July 1st through the Friday after Labor Day weekend. There are other blackout times for contractors throughout the year.
One person was killed during a traffic accident on Route 55 in Gloucester County Friday afternoon. Police say the driver of the only vehicle in the accident died as a result of his injuries. Police have not released the identity of the driver pending notification.

A Millville Police officer is being treated for injuries from broken glass after someone fired at his patrol car. The shooting occurred Saturday evening on North Second Street. The officer was taken to the hospital for treatment; so far, there have been no arrests.
A local man was critically injured during an early morning fire in Tuckahoe Sunday morning. Firemen say the blaze took place on Mount Pleasant Road in Tuckahoe during the overnight hours. The man was trapped inside the home and was being treated for burns and smoke inhalation.
The Wildwood City Commission will hold a special meeting on January 3rd. The meeting will be routine in nature and allow the city to have a temporary budget for 2018, along with a cash management plan until a new budget is discussed and approved later in the year.
