Comcast customers throughout South Jersey suffered some service interruptions Wednesday morning. The utility confirmed that thousands of customers in southern New Jersey, including Cumberland County, were without service during the morning hours. Most of those subscribers have had service restored.
Lower Township Police announced that the court offices will be closed Thursday, through Labor Day Monday. Police announced that the court location will be moved back to its original location, at the Public Safety Building, located at the Cape May Airport. The court offices will be open in the new location on Tuesday.
The United States Army Corps of Engineers will be meeting in Ventnor and other communities to discuss the future risks from back bay flooding events. The NJDEP announced that meetings will be held along the coast to assess the risks and figure out potential long term solutions. No meetings are scheduled in Cape May County.
Former Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Mychal Kendricks has been charged with insider trading. Multiple reports say that Kendricks has admitted to the federal crime. Kendricks is now a member of the Cleveland Browns’ organization. Kendricks is alleged to to have profited to the tune of $1.2 million during this trading.

A 36 year old East Vineland man has been fired from his job with Atlantic County after he attempted to get paid twice for his work. Ronald Grattini tried to get a paper check for services for which he already was paid via direct deposit. Grattini was employed as a Right to Know specialist.
$3 million is coming to Cape May County to build a 20,000 square foot drone facility at the Cape May Airport in Lower Township. The United States Department of Commerce announced that the building will be used by companies who specialize in drone technology. This project could create over 100 jobs for our region.

Many beach patrols along our coast are reporting a record shortage of guards due to the earlier start of the school year. Most towns will have a full compliment of lifeguards for the holiday weekend.
